A Sequence of Spaces

2026
Book, Editorial

The publication presents the 2026 Yale Graphic Design MFA cohort’s thesis books in a collective format—not as resolved, physical objects, but in the state that is becoming. 17 cohorts, 8 spreads each, showing the process of making their theses.
As we developed this publication, we were aware that every book—not only the thesis books, but the very container we were building to document their creation—represents a process, a duration, and a gradual development out of conditions that are largely invisible in the finished object. In that spirit, the form of the publication is meant to evoke the nascent blankness of a printer’s dummy. It is a finished book made to appear unfinished and empty at first glance—a sequence of spaces in a state of permanent provisionality.
